Elizabeth Fremantle
What’s On Offer
Liz is offering a course of 6 online creative writing classes, which are open to everyone. She will focus on 6 technical aspects of writing, including: How to build a character; Voice; Dialogue; Tense and Person; Structure; When to Show and When to Tell and Self Editing.
Elizabeth would like students to come with a piece of fiction of about 500 words. It doesn’t need to be polished and can be an extract of something longer that they’d like to work on, but it provides a jumping off point. No one will be asked to read anything out in front of the other students if they don’t want to.
Time: Wednesdays @ 6.30- 7.45 p.m (weekly) starting 27th January 2021.
Place: Online (Zoom)
Cost: £60 for the 6 classes (or £10 per class). As with her previous course, Elizabeth will be donating 100% of the profits to The Connection at St Martins-in-the-Field.
To register for the course, email: hattie.edmonds@gmail.com
Liz’s Top 3 Writing Tips:
1. Know your characters inside out. If they don’t live in your head, they won’t live on the page.
2. Use all your senses. When setting a scene think beyond the visual. How does it smell, feel, taste?
3. Consider what will keep the reader engaged in each scene you write. Your beautiful writing alone is never enough.
